doc. Ing. David Veselý, Ph.D.

"The University of Pardubice is a huge source of inspiration for me, from which I have been drawing my entire life."

Doc. Ing. David Veselý was born in 1975 in Pardubice. He graduated in Materials Engineering from the Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice. He defended his doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, UPCE, in Technology of Macromolecular Substances. He was appointed Associate Professor in 2020 at the proposal of the Faculty of Technology of Tomas Bata University in Zlín with his habilitation thesis "Formulation of Coating Materials".

After his work in the private sector, he returned to the University of Pardubice, where, since 2015, he has headed the Institute of Chemistry and Technology of Macromolecular Materials at the Faculty of Chemical Technology. His research interests include mechanisms of oxo-polymerization reactions, synthesis of anticorrosive pigments, formulation of coatings and organic coatings, and hydrophobic coatings.

His scientific collaboration with the corporate sector is also significant. For the last two years, he has been working with his colleagues to develop a new compound designed to increase the surface slip of polymer materials and composites. For creating these products, he received the Pardubice Business Incubator P-PINK Award in the Top Innovation category at the end of 2023. The University of Pardubice even holds a Czech patent for mixtures containing the newly developed substance.

He lives in Pardubice and enjoys spending his free time with his children.
